The greetings card market is booming: retail sales last year exceeded £1 billion and
it's a market that still has plenty of room for growth.
Consumers are buying more cards per head per annum than ever before and greetings cards are being sent or given for a wider and wider number of reasons. They may be sent instead of a letter, to say thank you, or wish you luck or bon voyage on your holidays. Teenage girls in particular, use greetings cards to pass as notes amongst their friends and blank cards - where the consumer can write his or her own message inside - are now as popular as more traditional birthday or anniversary cards.
Greetings cards have also proved to be a recession-proof industry. Whilst money may be too tight to allow the purchase of a birthday present, people will still find a pound or so in order to send a card.
Retailers see greetings cards as a low unit price, impulse purchase. Display and design are the most important factors and, if you can catch the shoppers attention with your display, he or she will usually buy one or two cards to keep in reserve at home.
That's why so many independant retailers are eager to display greetings cards in their CTN's, garage forecourt shops, video shops, off licences or grocers. It is an easy and profitable way of increasing the value of a shoppers unit purchase.
Ivory Tower Cards Limited offers you a low cost/high profit opportunity with your first independant retailers already set up to help you benefit from this booming market sector.
